4.1 Managing Information Resources: Selecting, Organizing, Using

4.2 Managing Program Resources: Human, Financial, Physical

4.3 Comprehensive and Collaborative Strategic Planning and Assessment

As a result of this course, I have researched and put into practice the tools necessary to create a media center.  All of the above stated standards have been met in the successful completion of this course.  The course enhanced my professional growth by allowing me the role of sole creator for a Middle School library media center and all that it entails.  The resulting project shows the thought and time required to focus on every aspect of the creation of a Middle School Library/Media Center - design of the facility, material selection to meet state requirements to stock it by the utilization of collection analysis and collaborative efforts, relationships with vendors and suppliers, selection of technological apparatus to support advanced research and ease of use, budgetary requirements for filling the space, and the personnel requirements.

Course:  Selection, Evaluation and Utilization of Materials

Professor:  Dr. Dutchie Riggsby

Semester:  Spring 2008

Summary of Activities

Artifact 1: Final Project - Creation of a Library Media Center
